After this, the United Lanús had a bad economic state due to lack of members and, obviously, capital for office or for the salary of its players.
decieron was then go for the "help" of a social club that was in the same game at South Barracks (now Lanús), the Club El Progreso.
Club El Progreso not play football, he was just a club "social" I had no court or players or anything you need to have a football team, but was in a better economic situation that the then "broken" Lanús United.
and was a summer afternoon, more specifically the afternoon of January 3, 1915, decided to meet in the halls of the headquarters of Club El Progreso, located across the street Ayohuma 80 (current July 9) and then decide your marriage and lead to our current and beloved Club Atlético Lanus.
As for the United Lanus stadium, no need to say it was used by the CA Lanús until February 24, 1929 when they decided to move it (but that's another story.)
Players also were "transferred" to the newly formed institution.
Finally, in March of 1915, Club Atlético Lanús started playing in the Junior Division of the FAF, since this institution took it as a renaming of the Lanús United.

Modern Dance Costumes
Currently, the most important rivals Club Atlético Lanús is the Club Atlético Banfield , who dispute the "Classic South " clash of great importance for both installments. With regard to the history: in the First Division, clashed in 65 opportunities with 19 hits Garnets, 28 and 18 draws Drill; 'Ascent, there were 22 meetings, with 8 wins Lanús, Banfield, 7 and 7 pars. Taking the whole story (Amateurism and Professionalism in all categories), played 105 games with 32 wins in Lanús, Banfield 41 wins and 32 draws. Both teams are representatives of the area in the First Division. The rivalry with the "drill" has been exacerbated after a series of clashes, which throughout the history of Argentine football have taken great importance, although in the decades of 60 and 70, both biases were friends . The closeness between the two institutions makes the "Classic of the South" is one of the most anticipated matches of both biases in each season. With Quilmes rivalry but there is also a minor.
Originally, the first historic rival has been Lanús Workshops Remedios de Escalada. Both teams started militating in the First Division since the beginning of professionalism in 1931 . Faced (in official tournaments) for the last time in the year 1992 in the National "B" before the final climb of Garnet (since Lanús and Workshops (RE) returned to play in a friendly for charity). Since Workshops never returned to First Division (quite the contrary, fell to First "B" Metropolitan ), there have been no face. Other rivals are favorites of garnet supporter: Velez Sarsfield , Estudiantes, Hurricane and Platense , the last two episodes of the above.
