The Faculty of Design and Communication of the University of Palermo based in Buenos Aires - Argentina hosted the Design Meeting 31 July to 3 August this year.
This second meeting included the presentation of lectures to professional and academic training workshops, conferences of the guests of honor, professional seminars, samples of work of professionals and institutions. And alongside the second plenary forum design schools.
The magnitude of the event can mention that was attended by over 5000 people from all countries in Central and South America mainly, and with the presence of other invited countries of Europe and the U.S..
Speakers of honor were the professional design and communication in Latin America: Felipe Taborda, Brazilian graphic designer. Ronald Shakespear, renowned Argentine graphic designer. Norberto Chaves author of several books and academic advisor for master's degree in design from the University of Palermo. Ruth Klotzel, Brazilian architect devoted to visual communication and graphic design.
Events:
1. Second plenary session of the forum design schools in different subjects
2. Poster Making Contest: Creativity America.
3. Seminars for which it should have pre-event registration
4. Lectures to the public, presented by the guests of honor
5. Social events (breakfast, cocktail, wine or cocktail)
Conferences
A brief summary of the conferences which were missed in the 300 generated in the event:
1. OBJECTS OF THE PRODUCT BEFORE
Speaker: Paolo Bergomi (Latin American Association of Industrial Design-Argentina)
presented a traveling museum of industrial design products made in Argentina since the fifties. This museum is a historical account of production through an inventory of objects presented from the design and production of coffee, motorcycles to aircraft manufactured by the industry in Argentina.
2. IMPLEMENTATION OF THE THEORY OF quasicrystals IN THE TEACHING OF DESIGN
Speaker: Alejandro Rubiano Mejía (University - Colombia)
Based on the crystallographic study and Bionic through fractal geometry (Penrose tile), theory the knots and Islamic art, we develop a geometry of composition, focusing on the symmetry of fifth order (known as a quasicrystal to objects that have a hybrid of harmony and disharmony, which is applied in a novel way to remove the student seeking teaching orthogonality of the paradigm of creating physical material for teaching in design.
3. CREATIVITY, DESIGN SPACE NEEDED IN INDUSTRIAL
Speakers: Luis Alberto Lesmes, Jorge Emilio frank Holby Muñoz (University Antonio Nariño)
The presentation The study focuses on some key skills within the knowledge on creativity. It addresses aspects of consciousness, the subconscious, the solution of problems and raises some diagrams about the mental processes occurring within the development of a design.
4. Psychedelic PRODUCTUAL - THE INNOVATION EQUATION
Speaker: Edward Zambrano Lozano (University - Colombia)
The paper is based on the book Introduction to Industrial Design and an analysis of morphology that use indicators representing recognized by a collective. It addresses the theory of psychedelia related to the product you because this is a concrete reality as well as applications can be recognized. From there who use it as a manifestation of the phenomenon under study which is constructed, deconstructed and reconstructed again in the subject's actions and mental processes. In short poses a valuation method used in objective terms.
5. SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE DESIGN. CENSUS OF INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES OF PARAGUAY
Speakers: Jimena García and Julio Jara (University Comunera - Paraguay)
Authors presented a report on the 2nd. Paraguayan national census of the 20 indigenous ethnic groups, where graphic designers made visual identity and other graphic material for the census as an interesting fact the design challenge was focused on filling forms and that communities had more than 28 dialects and the generation of visual material must be very careful.
Conference at the University of Buenos Aires:
FRACTAL CONCEPTS IN THE MULTIDISCIPLINARY DESIGN (UBA)
Speaker: Dr. Vera Spinadel
Within research that advances the math lab and design launched in 1995 created the logical and technical graduate of form, whose page on the Internet is http://www.maydi.org.ar/ is explained the basic concepts of the theory of fractals (fractus: interrupted or irregular) of Benoit Mandelbrot and the area was contrasted with natural or bionics (fractal geometry of nature, 1977) as those elements perceived by the senses. Subsequently contrasted with Euclidean geometry Fractal highlighting the ability to measure the irregularity of a shape.
Exhibition of Paper
DI MST. Fernando Alvarez
The document you submit as a speaker was titled "Towards a cognitive approach to industrial design: An approach psychogenetics cognitive development through interaction with objects."
This issue is related to the theory and psychogenetics relates to the design through the development of experiments that study the actions and mental operations involved in the manipulation of objects and the consequent development and perceptual learning - gestalt and space - topological, which demonstrates the ability of objects and development of cognitive strategies with which learning occurs. This theory is based on studies of Piaget and Vygotsky experience them.
