Foundation
On 25 May 1903, before the house of Thomas Jeansalles, a young New Pompeii (mostly college students Luppi) founded a football club under the name: "Green does not lose hope," or "Green Hope is not lost." However, some historians claim that the incident occurred in 1907, but there is no documentation to verify. Following the story, says it was to a neighborhood bookstore, located on Avenida Sáenz, intending to buy a rubber stamp with the name of the club, but they could not do. Some accounts assume that was not enough money (two dollars and fifty) for so many letters, some argue that in fact the bookseller, named Richina recommended them a shorter name, because the choice was very extensive to name a football club. And so, on one wall, there was a picture (or calendar) with the legend "The Hurricane" and the boys decided on that name. The first seal of the club said: "The urachus CLUB - 859 Street WINDOW." The lack of the letter "H" may be that the bookseller was of Italian origin and that letter is used only for certain verb forms, or simply an oversight or error. There is evidence that the first club president was Caimi, secretary and treasurer Thomas Brunett Jeansalles.

Years later he made the second (and final) foundation. There is a report, dated November 12, 1908, which reads: "Founded in Buenos Aires, dated May 25, 1903 the Club Atlético Huracán and reorganized on 1 November 1908", signing on as president and secretary José Alberto Laguna Rodríguez. This date was as the official founding.

mid-1909 the electrical engineer Jorge Newbery first piloted the balloon "Hurricane", brought from France, making its biggest cruise that year, when December came from the district of Belgrano, in the city Buenos Aires, and arrived to the Brazilian city of Bage. This fact inspired the hallmark of the club: Newbery engineer's permission, we decided to adopt as a symbol of the globe, becoming one of the few teams that is represented by a logo and not a shield. In an act of 1910 it was noted to be used white shirt with the insignia of Hurricane globe. In May 1911 the Board of the club appointed honorary member Jorge Newbery and then became the first honorary president. When the club reached the highest category of Argentine football (1914), he sent a telegram saying: "We met, the Club Atlético Huracán, without interruption won three categories, amounting to first division, as the balloon crossed three republics.
